When twin sisters Kian and Remee Hodgson were born, there was a one-in-a-million chance that one girl would inherit all-white genes and the other all-black genes from their mixed-race parents. Seven years later, they look remarkably alike despite their different skin colors.
“They don’t notice the color thing, not at all,” says mom Kylee. “They don’t see what everyone else sees.”
I remember seeing a photo of them as bbs; I think you can still google “black and white twins” and it comes up. I have to say something about that caption though—there’s no such thing as “white” genes and “black” genes, especially in the case of people with mixed race parents (which I believe, both parents are mixed). One kid didn’t get “all the black genes” in the family and the other didn’t get “all the white genes” in the family. Both girls are mixed race and have the same genes, it’s just that one ended up with more melanin than the other due to the amount of genetic variation in their genes.

I’m kind of in this awkward position of despair and amusement that someone like Rick Santorum exists.
I think what worries me more than a shit-streak like Santorum is that people voted for him on anything, ever. The guy is given a microphone on a consistent basis. There have always been sheepshit crazy God-and-country types, but it alarms me a lot more that this one has a voter base.
